passionflower can help you sleep 😴

Hi there Reader!

It’s an exciting week at Wild Heart Herb House as we celebrate our second birthday!

Two years ago, after months of preparation, we opened our doors not really sure what to expect and its been a beautiful, challenging, heart opening, joyous, and expansive adventure that I am grateful for every single day! Thank you so much for coming along for the ride!

More about birthday celebrations at the end of this email, but first let’s talk about herbs!

Maybe you’ve heard that passionflower is good for sleep, or nettle is high in vitamins and minerals, or lemon balms helps with depression and anxiety.

But what exactly does this mean?

How do I take lemon balm?

Do I eat it?

Make a tea? tincture? essential oil?

How much do I take and how often?

There is so much herbal information out there, some of it often contradicting. Every herbalist has their own way of doing things and searching online can be confusing or overwhelming. Where do you even begin?!

Guess what? Wild Heart Herb House is here to make herbalism simple and easy for you! Introduction to Herbalism is happening at Wild Heart in New Bedford THIS SATURDAY October 25!

You will be introduced to our vibrant plant loving community, we will sip freshly made herbal tea, ground ourselves in a centering meditation, and discuss some very important topics in herbalism such as:

  • what the difference is between infusions, tinctures, infused oils, essential oils, elixirs, syrups, and more
  • how herbalism differs from modern allopathic medicine hint: you are more than just a sum of your parts!
  • how your nervous, endocrine, and digestive systems work together and why it is SO important to take care of them
  • herbal actions + constituents aka how to best collaborate with herbs and how the herbs actually work in your body
  • the absolute beauty + joy of practicing herbalism for preventative care, self care, and symptom relief for yourself and your family
  • how connecting with plants and the practice of herbalism will completely change how you engage with your life and all other beings on the planet!

Practicing herbalism has drastically changed my life for the better by reducing my and my family's need for doctor visits and prescription medications, teaching me so much about how my body works, increasing my connection to myself and the earth, expanding the compassion I hold for all other humans, and it just makes me feel like I belong here as an important member of our earthly community!

YOU CAN FEEL THIS WAY TOO!

Join me on Saturday for Introduction to Herbalism, it will be one of the best decisions you ever make for your health and wellbeing!

This class is held in person at Wild Heart Herb House in New Bedford, Mass (777 Shawmut Avenue) on Saturday October 25 from 10:30am-12:30pm. The price is sliding scale $25-45 with a suggested price of $35. I hope you’ll join us!

Ok, now other fun birthday stuff!

Come be enthralled, mesmerized, and captivated by the enchanting music of Allysen Callery this Friday evening at 7:00.

Allysen is an ethereal light witch who dances on the edge of the dark and watching her sing live is a truly magical experience. Add to that cozy living room vibes, nourishing herbal tea, heart opening cacao, and delicious birthday cake (made by Michele) and you’ve got yourself a perfect autumnal evening!

THIS FRIDAY + SATURDAY ONLY our delicious herbal tea blends and herbal cacao blends are 20% off! Try a new blend and stock up on your favorites. Shop in person or online!

I can’t thank you all enough for supporting me in creating the vision that has now become the herbal hub of the southcoast. Wild Heart is an absolute dream come true. Michele and I are so honored to be the herb witches behind the counter. Been meaning to visit? Come on by this weekend! We would love to see you!

Love, Nico
