eeeekkk!!! spring is starting to pop!! 🌱

Wow does it feel so good to be back at the shop this week Reader!

The doors are open, snowdrops are blooming right outside our front door and it was so wonderful to chat about and bag up herbs for the shining humans who stopped by. It almost brought a tear to my eye to be behind the counter. I love Wild Heart so much and I really missed being fully present here!

The last few weeks were ROUGH. Right after the blizzard I was wicked sick with an unknown respiratory virus (still coughing) for over a week and on the day I was feeling the worse snow fell off the roof and totaled my poor car wtf. I didn't really feel like myself again until the sun came out on Monday and brought me back to life.

This winter was brutal for many of us and I am SO GRATEFUL that spring is almost here! I bought a new car Tuesday, its the same exact one that I had with significantly less miles so all good in the end but dealing with insurance and buying a car is NO FUN. Hopefully I'll have my new ride by Friday :)

I hope the big thaw and warmer days are inspiring you to get outside and explore the world around you and guess what, it's also a great time to learn about herbs! We've got some great classes coming up at Wild Heart and I hope you will join us!

First up is an Herbal Tea Blending Workshop that was postponed due to the blizzard... now its on Saturday morning March 28 led by yours truly!

Herbal tea is the foundation of herbalism. It's easy, affordable, accessible and beneficial to just about everyone! In this hands on workshop we will taste different simples (teas with only one herb), discuss strategies for blending for taste and medicine, and everyone who attends will depart with their own custom tea blend! Price to attend is $50 with a sliding scale adjustment of $40-60. Click here to reserve your spot! Space is limited and we are about halfway full.

This next class is one that I am personally very excited to attend! My dear friend Christin's Folk Fermentation Workshop on Saturday April 11 at 10:30am!

This class came about because Christin was working at the shop when I was teaching my last Intro to Herbalism class, I commented that she knows a lot about gut health and fermented foods and everyone wanted to know more. So here it is!

Christin does an excellent job describing this class on her website so if you're gut health has been out of balance, you've been meaning to eat more probiotics, or you're just curious about this ancient way of eating, find all the details and link to register here!

Spring is beginning to pop at Haskell Gardens and over the next couple months hundreds of plants will begin to flourish and bloom including a plethora of medicinal herbs! Join me on Saturday morning April 25 for a Medicinal Herb Plant Walk in the gardens and meadows around Wild Heart!

There are so many beneficial herbs and wild weeds that grow around us and learning how to identify them is empowering and also increases feelings of connection and belonging.

Plus its just cool to be walking just about anywhere and being like oh hey there's plantain! there's mugwort! there's mullein! We will discover these herbal allies and many more during this casual, fun, and informative outdoor plant walk around Wild Heart. $25 to attend with a sliding scale adjustment of $15-35. Register here.

And finally, its almost time for our Mother's Day Weekend Herbalism Day Retreat on May 9! This was one of my absolute favorite days at Wild Heart last year! (Herb Fest + Salad Days art opening are also in the top 3) We wild harvested herbs, made medicine together, explored the gardens, enjoyed a delicious lunch (included), and made new friends of the human and plant varieties lol

This day is truly magical and just a lot of fun so if you're looking to connect with other like hearted humans amongst the herbs in our cozy cottage, this day is for you! Find all the details and link to sign up here!

It's an actual dream come true for me to be your local herb witch in my spider filled brick cottage lol. I absolutely LOVE chatting with you about herbs, finding you the perfect tea blend, and guiding you towards deepening your relationships with yourself, your community, and the entire world around you. I pinch myself that we've been here for almost two and a half years and we're still just getting started!

We've found a nice flow of making our house made products, offering classes that are fun + informative, and collaborating with other local makers + herbalists to sell their wares as well. I've learned so much from you all and for that I am so grateful!

Wild Heart Herb House is OPEN Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 12-5 and Saturday 10-3. (open other times by appointment as well! just message me)

We sell over 120 dried herbs and mushrooms, herbal tea blends, herbal tinctures + vinegars, herbal cacao blends, smudge bundles, incense, beeswax candles, colorful mugs, books + zines, local honey and much more!

Hi Reader, I've given a lot of thought to the General Strike / National Shutdown that is happening this Friday, January 30. Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with ICE OUT NOW!!!! They are kidnapping and killing people in the streets!! and I know there are absolute horrors taking place at those "detention centers". I also completely agree with not giving our labor and hard earned money to corporations that support ICE and the Trump administration. However, I know for sure that HERBS and...
