Hi there Reader! I'm so looking forward to our Summer Herbalism Day Retreat next Saturday! It's going to be an absolutely PERFECT day of herbal medicine making, foraging in the gardens, enjoying a delicious made just for you vegetarian/vegan lunch prepared by shop witch + culinary genius Michele, getting to know other local herb lovers, and adding to (or beginning) your home apothecary! There is nothing more magical, fulfilling, empowering, and just plain fun than spending a day in a beautiful place with inspiring people learning about and collaborating with the incredible medicinal plants that grow all around us! Feeling the sun on you skin with a basket full of freshly foraged herbs by your side... I checked in recently with our Spring Herbalism Retreat participants and this is what they had to say: "My favorite part - just the vibe, the energy, sipping tea, being among people who get me, feeling free, not rushing! I loved the walk, ID-ing the plants and of course, our amazing lunch! I truly appreciate that you talk about respecting plants, nature and the planet. Asking permission, giving back. I thought I’m just really weird or crazy, but apparently there are other people who see the world this way yay!" "I am sooooo grateful! I truly thought it was a wonderful day; like a welcome breath of fresh air! I loved learning how to use herbs & making our own personal products. I loved the garden tour and choosing herbs. The setting is just beautiful, inside and out. You were a welcoming, bright, energetic, creative, fun retreat leader! I appreciated the altar activity and opening/closing prayers. Lunch was amazing!" "I want to thank you for a magical day, it was exactly what my soul needed! It was educational but also very relaxing and cozy, it just felt like we were all in some different dimension that feels like home, and there’s only love, peace and kindness." A different dimension that feels like home where there's only love, peace, and kindness!? The best compliment ever!! Sign me up! Someone also shared that name tags would be helpful to remember everyone's name (done) and one participant said she had a much easier time with seasonal allergies this spring because she began drinking nettle tea every day! Amazing! Also to add from my personal perspective - I intended this day to be informative and educational. I wanted everyone to depart feeling confident on their herbal path but it turned out to be so much more than that. New friendships were formed, tears were shed, embraces were shared, and I heard so many times as people left "wow i really needed that, I'm so glad that I was here today!" Often we are tasked with caring for others, whether that's children, partners, other family members, at work. But when was the last time you took a day to care for yourself? We always talk about filling up our own cups first and this is the day to do just that! Here are all the details and the link to sign up, I sincerely hope you'll join us! If you're still wondering - this retreat is perfect for you if:

It's hard to believe we're approaching the autumn equinox, the halfway point between summer + winter solstices, but the changes I see out in the world are undeniable! Brilliant yellow goldenrod illuminating the overgrowth on the side of the road, mugwort in full seeded glory preparing for next spring, crispy hydrangeas, and bright orange pumpkins at roadside stands replacing the summer squash and cucumbers. But this time of year also has another meaning for me now... a time of dreaming and...
Hi there Reader! There is definitely a morning crisp in the air and it is getting noticeably darker in the evenings. I know to many of you this means your favorite season is upon us, but as a summer baby I can't help but wish this year's hottest days were yet to come! While I quietly mourn the passing of summer (it went by too fast as always) I also celebrate the bounty of the autumn season upon us, easy sleeping during cooler nights, and all of the incredible events that we have going on...
Hi there Reader, Full disclaimer: I wrote this email a few days ago when it was really hot, this morning it obviously isn't! But still, it will heat up again and I stand by what I wrote below! It's been hot and I'm feeling very full of life but also a bit frazzled at times so I want to let you know about something that has been really restorative and calming to my hectic summer... drinking jars upon jars of iced herbal tea! Pick a flavor any flavor they are all sooo good but my favorites have...
