september is popping! 🌼

Hi there Reader!

There is definitely a morning crisp in the air and it is getting noticeably darker in the evenings. I know to many of you this means your favorite season is upon us, but as a summer baby I can't help but wish this year's hottest days were yet to come!

While I quietly mourn the passing of summer (it went by too fast as always) I also celebrate the bounty of the autumn season upon us, easy sleeping during cooler nights, and all of the incredible events that we have going on this month at Wild Heart Herb House!

First up - TONIGHT is our final Queer Communi-Tea for a while! These gatherings have been fun and nourishing, but we are switching up our schedule and Friday night routines next month (more details soon!) so if you have been meaning to come by to chill, make art, and have great conversations with your local queer community, TONIGHT FRIDAY SEPT 5 from 6-8 is the time to do it!

New Event! We are so excited for the first BYOBook Club gathering at Wild Heart! Bring whatever book you’re currently reading, sip tea, and enjoy an evening surrounded by plants and good company. Monday, Sept 8th 6–8pm. Come read, chat, and connect with fellow book lovers in a beautiful space. Free to attend.

Our very popular Wild Hearts Open Mic Poetry will be on Friday September 12 from 7-9 (usually on the third Friday, but this month only its on the second.) This is a very laid-back open mic, and we share poems around the circle, no sign-ups necessary. This is a perfect environment for folks who are new to sharing their work, or just want to be comfy-cozy while sharing poems. Hope to see you there! Free to attend.

We have a very special art opening in the gardens on Friday Sept 19 from 5-8 - Introducing SALAD DAYS! Join us for an evening of refreshments and activations among the gardens and greenhouses. Featuring Harp + vocals by Myles Goulart, CLOROPHILIA Equinox Performance & Elixir by artist Willa Van Nostrand, and Garden Frottage—an automatic drawing process shaped by the land.

The exhibit features work by 21 artists from across the U.S. and beyond, Salad Days transforms the defunct greenhouses of Haskell Gardens into vessels for dreaming—a contemplative nursery for a more hopeful future. Exhibition runs daily, dawn to dusk, through October 12.

And of course, rounding out this already filled to the brim month is Herb Fest! Our annual gathering of herb lovers and plank folk on September 27 from 10-4. Details and link to sign up are right here! AND if you get your ticket for $45 or more by MIDNIGHT TONIGHT (Friday, Sept 5) you will get a FREE small bag of one of our delicious and medicinal herbal tea blends! So if you are planning on coming, today is the day to get your ticket! It's going to be an incredible day!

AS ALWAYS, you can stop by Wild Heart Herb House to chat with an experienced herbalist for support + advice, sip yummy herbal tea, and get the herbal remedies your body, mind, emotions, and spirit are craving! I can't wait to see you!

Our hours are Thursday 12-5, Friday 12-8, Saturday 10-3.

Thank you for your love + support! Can't wait to see you soon!

Love, Nico

It's hard to believe we're approaching the autumn equinox, the halfway point between summer + winter solstices, but the changes I see out in the world are undeniable! Brilliant yellow goldenrod illuminating the overgrowth on the side of the road, mugwort in full seeded glory preparing for next spring, crispy hydrangeas, and bright orange pumpkins at roadside stands replacing the summer squash and cucumbers. But this time of year also has another meaning for me now... a time of dreaming and...

Hi there Reader! I'm so looking forward to our Summer Herbalism Day Retreat next Saturday! It's going to be an absolutely PERFECT day of herbal medicine making, foraging in the gardens, enjoying a delicious made just for you vegetarian/vegan lunch prepared by shop witch + culinary genius Michele, getting to know other local herb lovers, and adding to (or beginning) your home apothecary! There is nothing more magical, fulfilling, empowering, and just plain fun than spending a day in a...

Hi there Reader, Full disclaimer: I wrote this email a few days ago when it was really hot, this morning it obviously isn't! But still, it will heat up again and I stand by what I wrote below! It's been hot and I'm feeling very full of life but also a bit frazzled at times so I want to let you know about something that has been really restorative and calming to my hectic summer... drinking jars upon jars of iced herbal tea! Pick a flavor any flavor they are all sooo good but my favorites have...
