Hi there Reader! Self care practices ebb and flow, wax and wane, shift with the time of year. The seasons have different joys and challenges. There are times when I feel myself being pulled into an unbalanced state (mid June to mid July is a classic stressful time for me) and I realize that the hot weather has stopped me from drinking my nourishing tonic herbal infusions, something that always keeps me feeling balanced and grounded. But here's the thing, a simple tweak is all you need to adjust your herbal tea practice for the warmer months of the year! Make your tea before you go to bed, let it steep overnight, and in the morning you have a deeply nourishing and supportive room temperature beverage that you can easily add a few ice cubes to for even more refreshment. Herbal tea is absolutley delicious chilled or even paired with lemonade! Super good! Just getting started with your herbal infusion practice or need a refresher? Click here for a super helpful + informative video I made a few years ago. It's under 6 minutes and gives you all the basics you need to know to start this super potent and life changing (not an overstatement!) herbal medicine practice. Not sure what herbs to include in your herbal infusion? Questions about drinking tea or herbalism in general? Come by Wild Heart Herb House and speak to myself or Michele about which one of our herbal blends right for you! We are so honored to welcome author Abigail Rose Clarke to be a very special guest teacher for our Friday night C.A.T.S (craft and talk shit) Gathering! She will guide us through some nourishing somatic practices and we will get a sneak peek of her new Body Oracle deck! THIS Friday July 11 from 6-8. Sliding Scale $15-35 with a suggested price of $25. It's hard to believe we're approaching the autumn equinox, the halfway point between summer + winter solstices, but the changes I see out in the world are undeniable! Brilliant yellow goldenrod illuminating the overgrowth on the side of the road, mugwort in full seeded glory preparing for next spring, crispy hydrangeas, and bright orange pumpkins at roadside stands replacing the summer squash and cucumbers. But this time of year also has another meaning for me now... a time of dreaming and...
Hi there Reader! There is definitely a morning crisp in the air and it is getting noticeably darker in the evenings. I know to many of you this means your favorite season is upon us, but as a summer baby I can't help but wish this year's hottest days were yet to come! While I quietly mourn the passing of summer (it went by too fast as always) I also celebrate the bounty of the autumn season upon us, easy sleeping during cooler nights, and all of the incredible events that we have going on...
